A Divine Nine Hour Makeover

A home owner in Westport, Connecticut left for work in the morning just like any other day. Little did she know that when she got back her living room would be completely made over in just nine hours! Designers Pat Healing and Dan Barsanti turned this empty living room into a gorgeous, vibrant, and chic living space. I absolutely love what they did with the room. I love the blue and purple color choices, the patterned backing of the dining chairs, and the gorgeous fabrics used throughout. This space went from drab to fab in just nine hours!

Something's Gotta Give!

"Something's Gotta Give" is one of my all time favorite movies. Diane Keaton's home in the Hamptons is heaven to me. It is so beautifully decorated and exactly my style. Nancy Meyer's and Beth Rubino worked hard to create this beautiful beach home and that hard work definitely payed off!

P.S.- This movie also has the most amazing soundtrack. I listen to it almost everyday, it is soothing and relaxing, go buy it!!

So many people fell in love with this home as I did. One apartment in New York was designed with this home as their inspiration. Here are the before and after pictures of this gorgeous apartment!

House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year

Every year House Beautiful has the kitchen of the year showcased in Rockefeller Center.
This years kitchen was designed by the talented and corky Jeff Lewis. The kitchens cabinets are this amazing dark wood which play well with the large amount of light cascading through the room. There is an amazing see through wall divider with geometric cut outs in which divide the kitchen from the living room. He created this space with the indoors and outdoors in mind. There is a beautiful white island with plenty of seating along with a modern dark wood bar-like kitchen table. I love everything about this modern and bright kitchen.

My First Post!

Hi everyone! I wanted to begin my posts by showing you how I have started off my year at college. Here are a few before & after pictures of my dorm! It was absolutely dreadful to start with but with great patterns, colors, and a fresh white background, I turned it into a DIY masterpiece in no time!

Here are a few dorm makeover tips!

  • Purchase large pieces of great patterned fabric to adorn your white walls
  • Target and Pier 1 Imports are some of my favorite decorating spots for deals
  • Get large area rugs and cute floor pillows
  • Ottomans with storage are great to save space
  • Hang colorful lanterns to section off different areas in your space
  • Pick up some great fake floral arrangements to add pizazz to your room
  • Curtains add a cozy feel
  • Buy cork board squares and make an inspiration board
  • Last but not least, make sure your space reflects you!
